Biova Project awarded as an Innovative Startup at Carrefour Trade Show 2024

We’re proud to share that Biova Project took part in the Carrefour Trade Show 2024, where we received the prestigious Innovative Startup award. The event brought together more than 3,000 participants, including suppliers, partners, and representatives from large-scale retail, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the latest innovations and solutions in the retail sector.

An award that recognizes innovation

For us at Biova Project, receiving this award confirms that our commitment to sustainability and food recovery is both valued and recognized. Our mission - based on recovering unsold bread to produce craft beer - is fully aligned with the values promoted by Carrefour and by this year’s Trade Show, which focused on innovation, circular economy, and Made in Italy.

Signing the Food Transition Pact 2024

During the Trade Show, we also had the honor of signing the Food Transition Pact 2024, an initiative launched by Carrefour involving more than 67 Italian companies committed to transforming the food system through sustainability. Through this pact, we pledge to reduce waste, improve biodiversity, and promote a healthier and more sustainable diet. Taking part in this project means not only continuing along the path of circular economy, but also actively contributing to the creation of a more responsible food future.

Biova Project and Carrefour: a virtuous collaboration

Our collaboration with Carrefour takes shape every day through Biova Carrefour, a beer made using bread recovered directly from their stores. This product is a perfect example of how waste can be transformed into a resource, reducing environmental impact while creating value. We’re proud to partner with a company that, like us, places sustainability at the heart of its strategy.

Looking ahead

The award and our participation in the Carrefour Trade Show 2024 are not an endpoint, but a new starting point for Biova Project. We’ll continue to innovate, exploring new ways to reduce waste and advance our vision of a circular economy. Signing the Food Transition Pact 2024 strengthens our commitment to a fairer and more sustainable food system, and motivates us to work even harder to offer products that respect the environment and enhance food resources.
